Recreation Therapist will work closely with the clinical team in providing evidenced based treatment to their patients who are experiencing mental illness. Each unit has 2 RT’s, they are part of a larger RT department of 23. This provides opportunity to share ideas, co-facilitate with another RT and members of the clinical treatment team. This is a full time position with great benefits, health and retirement benefits, holidays, UTA Eco pass, (commuting is no problem) and the flexibility to work 5-8 hour days or 4 -10 hour days . Hospital amenities include indoor swimming pool, 18 hole disc golf, stocked trout pond, multiple gymnasiums, exercise weight rooms, 3 cafeterias, and a large fleet of vans for weekly community reintegration activities.
The RT is responsible to attend clinical meetings, staffing’s, and implementing treatment plans for their patients and documenting patient progress. Staff are trained and provided continual training opportunities to further their career and expertise.

|Minimum Requirements||Candidates must be 21 years old, have a current Utah Therapeutic Recreation license, and NCTRC certification. They must be healthy and able to carry out the duties of an RT putting in 40 hours per week. Generally no weekend work. Work will include one early evening a week. RT’s are encouraged to become Life Guard certified through hospital training. Van training is expected in order to take patients into the community.|
