Internships – Salt Lake County Youth Services

Ready to dive into a resilience theory based recreation therapy program? Interested in serving youth ages 0-18 who have experienced abuse and/or neglect or who are working with other risk factors in their lives in both emergency shelter and outpatient settings? Excited to contribute to a vibrant program that’s always growing? This is the place for you.

For over 40 years, Youth Services has been serving youth and their families in the Greater Salt Lake area.

Our humble beginning included a few offices for our free counseling services and a small home as our shelter for abused and neglected youth. Over the years we have expanded to include shelter care for youth from birth to age 18, counseling, substance abuse and mental health services, afterschool programming, job training skills, around the clock availability and crisis therapy and extended services for young adult’s ages 18-22.

OUR MISSION:

To provide children, youth and families in crisis with immediate safety, shelter and support.

Though we have grown, our overall goal has remained the same: to improve the lives of youth and their families. Whether a youth is with us one day, a month or more, our goal is to make an impact in their life.

SERVICES OFFERED:
Our wide range of services extend throughout the valley and include our office in West Jordan which is a Juvenile Receiving Center and offers substance abuse day treatment, and our Afterschool Programs in Kearns, Magna, West Valley City, and Millcreek.
