Responsibilities:
• Ensures client recreation therapy assessments are complete within 72 hours of admission to program
• Develops, documents, implements and participates treatment plans for clients. Ensures client treatment goals are established within one week of admission
• Conducts recreation therapy groups and off site activities
• Plans and develops alumni activities
• Coordinates quarterly offsite camping and therapeutic outings.
• Assists clients in identifying and researching healthy recreation activities during and following treatment
• Tracks and manages rec therapy budget within company guidelines
• Coordinates care with all members of client’s treatment team within the company and outside providers and documents care coordination appropriately
• Completes all administrative and clinical documentation of a client’s treatment including but not limited to documentation related to admission, treatment plan, group sessions, treatment plan updates, and discharge plans, as these documents relate to meeting government regulations, certification requirements, and client health insurance requirements for reimbursement
• Communicates with assigned client’s health insurance companies as needed (e.g., pre-certification, utilization review) to facilitate reimbursement and documents these activities
• Designs and leads employee trainings as assigned by Clinical Director
• Interacts in the therapeutic milieu and provides support to clients in free time
• Participates in weekly clinical case staffing meeting
• Participates in marketing activities as requested by Business Development including speaking engagements, facility tours, lunch and learns, etc.
• Completes other duties as assigned by Clinical Director or Director of Recreation Therapy
