Full Time Recreation Therapist – Utah State Hospital

RT will perform a variety of treatment services such as: Prepare and implement therapeutic recreation for patients with mental illness, conduct assessments, and evaluations, supervises patients, RT Interns, and works within a clinical team. RT records and documents treatment “NOTES” on patients, tracking progress and or regression. Develops and conducts therapy and Leisure Education for patient needs. RT will lead individual and group treatment, and as a co-facilitator when possible. The RT will provide consultation and expert advice as needed. They must speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand information and ideas as presented by others. The RT will develop and make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives and propose quality solutions. The RT will be part of a 20 member TR department.

Minimum Requirements Be TRS , or MTRS Licensed in the state of Utah Be nationally certified by National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification

Have a valid drivers license

Able to be First Aid and CPR certified

Able to be trained in van transportation of patients for community re-integration experience

Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderate to heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner

Work independently and as a clinical team member Be at least 21 years old
