For RT professionals and organizations, The University of Utah Recreational Therapy Program has established a “Best Practice” Internship Program. The State of Utah Recreational Therapy Practice Act and the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification’s (NCTRC) National Job Analysis clearly outlines the requirements for “best practice.” The UofU RT program is committed to supporting, recreational therapists and their agencies in developing and maintaining RT internship programs that emulate, “Best Practice.”
This workshop will introduce the “Best Practice” program and teach the framework for the development of an internship program that provides “best practice.” This hands-on experience will assist recreational therapists in the initial development of their internship program. Participants are encouraged to bring all internship material, personal computers, and lots of enthusiasm!
Facilitated by Sandra Negley M.S. MTRS, CTRS, FDRT and Steven Bell Ph.D., TRS, CTRS. Cosponsored by the Utah Recreation Therapy Association.
This workshop will be held in room 1160 at the Marriott Library. Please complete registration and payment online, prior to the workshop. Registration includes class materials, parking, lunch and 7.5 contact hours / 0.75 CEUs.
