Full Time Recreation Therapist – Utah State Hospital

Responsible for Recreation Therapy on an adult psychiatric unit , while coordinating with the Treatment team made up of a variety of disciplines. Treatment programs are on and off unit, on campus or in the community. RT will work closely in coordinating, operating and supervising a TRT and Interns. They will track treatment progress , RT budget, coordinate with other RT’s on other Units throughout the hospital with joint activities and hospital events. Candidates must possess the ability to assess patient needs through formal assessments, develop treatment plans for the unit patients, implement the plans, and conduct evaluations for progress. They will maintain all professional licenses and national certifications, state regulations required for Division of Human Services and trainings required by the hospital, accrediting body, state and federal government. The RT will provide Evidenced Based treatment in a variety of treatment goals and Pillars addressing individual patient needs. Therapist will serve on hospital committees.

Candidates must possess a though knowledge of RT principles and theory, work effectively with other disciplines such as Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Nursing and others.
