Full Time Recreation Therapist – Copper Hills Youth Center

Copper Hills Youth Center has an immediate opening for a full time Recreation Therapist who is licensed and certified as a TRS, CTRS. Experience with adolescent youth preferred. Duties include (but are not limited to) assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating client care through Recreation Therapy. Position Title: Recreation Therapist
Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree from four year college or university with two years related experience and /or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write progress notes and business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest percentages and record receipts for petty cash reimbursement.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification/ or eligible for certification. State of Utah Recreation Specialist license or Therapeutic Recreation Technician license/or eligible for license. CPR and First Aid certification.

The employee must have satisfactory health, stamina, and strength as the position necessitates frequent participation in physical activities with the patient population such as physical exercises.
This position requires the ability to physically restrain patients. The frequency and rationale for using CPI is for the purpose of prevention of harm to self and others.
