Full Time Recreation Director – Southern Utah Veterans Home

A positive, outgoing person with great management skills is needed to lead a great team of 9 TRTs in a successful recreation program! This is a full time position with benefits at the Veterans Home in St. George, UT. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: participating on the management team; preparing balanced and creative monthly calendar; hiring, training and supervising staff; working with the DON to ensure the Journey’s Memory Care program runs smoothly and efficiently; collaborating with the clinical team; performing assessments and creating/reviewing care plans; assisting the Resident Council with its various meetings; planning and executing large social events for the residents such as a Luau, Hoedown, Mardi Gras, etc.; assisting the Director of Community Relations with large community events sponsored by the Veterans Home such as a Veterans Day 5K and Fun Run; managing the department budget; serving on various committees as requested; and purchasing and maintaining recreation supplies and equipment.

1+ years of practical experience in rec therapy with the geriatric population
