New Haven Residential Treatment Center is seeking a Full-Time Recreation Therapist. Opportunities in this position include 4-6 weekly RT sessions and 2 general groups. Maintaining and inspect the High Ropes Course and other equipment. Strong applicants will possess an affinity for Relational, Experiential and Systemic modalities. Applicants must possess skills in discernment, therapeutic theory, intervention and teaching techniques. Applicants must be capable of holding appropriate boundaries with students and their parents, have the ability to assess and interpret student behavior, and are able to make critical decisions based on input from multiple sources. New Haven employs a Team Delivery Model of treatment, engaging representatives from Clinical, Residential, Recreational Therapy, Nursing, and Academics in our Treatment Team. RT’s complete the RT section of each master treatment plan for each student. They plan, assist and/or lead company ceremonies. Plan and implement 1-2 long Saturdays a month. Assist with activities during family weekend at both campuses. Our clinical program is unique with a rich learning and supportive atmosphere. Two years working as a licensed RT is preferred but not required.
One year working in a residential setting.

Ability to create positive relationship. Professional documentation and charting skills.
